After Monday’s look at NSU‘s new issue’s cover and editorial contents, today we’ll take a peek at the promos in the new Oct/Nov ’15 issue. As has become common of late, it’ll take a bit of explaining.
Let’s get the easy one out of the way first. The brand new issue features the very first Orphan Black promo card from Cryptozoic Entertainment. We could be cheeky and say look for variant versions featuring Alison, Cosima, Helena, and Rachel in addition to Sarah but hey, they’re clones so it appears Cryptozoic opted for a single Orphan Black Season One card, numbered P1. The second card is The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The Oct/Nov issue contains both P5 and P6 and they’re inserted randomly and at equal ratio. Next issue will feature three more Hobbit promos completing an epic five-card panel (or larger if you’ve collected P1 through P4 found elsewhere).
The third promo is a bit more complex. Originally, we planned for 12 different RRParks CARDS promos. The cards promote several upcoming RRParks CARDS series including Chronicles of The Three Stooges Series Four, Gary Saves The Graveyard, Halloween Trick of Treat II, Monster Choke n Gag Series II, and Yoshitoshi Japanese Horror in 3D. To the best of our knowledge, this is the very first time we’ve included random promos that promote different card series. Those paying attention to what they see in print will note our cover states 12 different cards inside as does a (now incorrect) pictorial in the issue. And here’s why it’s incorrect—as we began inserting the cards, we discovered two additional cards. What we believed to be card #20 (the cards actually start with #9) turned out to be 21 and we had a totally different card #20 in-hand. In addition to that, a very small quantity of card #7’s crept into the mix. This card was intended for The Wrapper and while not rare, will be very hard to find in NSU. These were sent to us in error but made it into issues before they were discovered.
To help illustrate all 14 RRParks CARDS promos, we’ve developed the slider at the very bottom. Card numbers and descriptions are printed below the images. We hope you enjoy the random cards.

I remember trading cards were huge in my elementary school. This is a smart way to promote a show or movie.
